There are many reasons you should get back to work now. Whether you have been out of work for 1 week or 1 year, having a job gives you a greater sense of self worth, builds your skill set, and supports you financially. After being laid off, or unemployed due to COVID, it can be a bit daunting getting back into the workforce. Luckily there is an influx of available positions across various industries.

Seasonal Positions

If you are looking for something temporary, now is a great time to get back out there. Many restaurants, landscaping companies, and outdoor recreation facilities look for more staff during the summertime to keep up with the high traffic they often see during this season. This, in addition to mask mandates and capacity restrictions being lifted, contribute to seasonal employers' staffing needs, creating a perfect opportunity to build up your resume and bank account.

Skilled Trades

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Welders, Plumber, and Electricians are always in high demand. Now in this post-COVID season, there are less individuals entering the skilled trades workforce, generating a gap in employment and potentially a great opportunity for you. Companies are going back to work in-person, full-time and are likely looking for dependable employees in your field of expertise. If you are looking to make a career switch, the skilled trades industry is a great place to look!
